GPT Installs Mimaki CJV30 Printer/Cutter Solution at Pawprint Signs

The signmakers’ industry is as competitive as it has ever been. To succeed in this environment, companies need to increase the range and quality of their service to customers as well as taking the opportunity to reduce costs where appropriate. Pawprint Signs found it was losing revenue by farming large format digital printing work to outside companies. By investing in its own equipment, the company could take control of its customer service provision as well as increase the overall profitability of its business. Pawprint Signs selected GPT to deliver, install and support the very latest in combined sign printing and cutting technology – the Mimaki CJV30 solvent inkjet printer/cutter.
Pawprint Signs, based in Wakefield, specialises in retail signage and wrap-around graphics for vehicles. With its additional skills in design and branding solutions, the company is a fully integrated one-stop solution provider for all signage and display graphics requirements. John Balmer of Pawprint Signs explains, “We have the knowledge, experience and skills to deliver a sign and display solution that covers front-of-shop, point-of-sale, shelf labels, floor graphics and general store branding. A company that comes to us can expect consistently high quality throughout their store, with printing and installation for every possible aspect of their display signage.”
While Pawprint could deliver and install signage for all its customer requirements, until recently it needed to outsource large format printing. “Large format was becoming an increasingly important element of retail signage and we were in danger of losing significant revenues and control by not being able to offer this directly. We looked at the options available to us and were very interested in the combined printing and cutting capabilities of the Mimaki CJV. Amari Digital in Leeds recommended we speak to GPT, who presented the product very professionally and were able to demonstrate quite thoroughly what this machine could do for our business,” adds John Balmer.
The multi award winning, 'all in one' Mimaki CJV30 machine sports high end features across the range, and is delivered with comprehensive warranty, full set of 8 inks, take-up unit and powerful software bundle including PostScript RIP, cutting software and design creation package. The combined printing and cutting capability delivers seamless workflow, takes up less space and provides an unparalleled solution for all solvent printing and cutting requirements.
Since installing the Mimaki CJV, Pawprint has won some important business and has been able to deliver complete solutions in-house. “We have produced outdoor billboards for West Yorkshire Windows as well as carrying out full store graphics for Bargain World, a Yorkshire based company that has acquired several of the Woolworths store locations. For Bargain World, we have provided everything they could possibly need for the image, display and promotion of their stores and we have been able to do this with complete control and no outside printing assistance,” he says.
John Balmer concludes, “The CJV has revolutionised how we do business. It is a powerful, versatile and easy-to-use machine that allows us to meet all customer requirements ourselves. We have also been pleased with the support given to us by GPT. They have listened to our requirements and have always done their best to resolve issues quickly and efficiently and to make sure we are up and running as much as possible.”
